AFWA has gone through many changes this year as well as the past eighty years. However, it remains constant that our organization is nothing without its members.
The Women Who Count Awards recognize outstanding women who exemplify AFWA’s core values in career and life, and set a positive example for other women in the accounting and finance industries.
The 2019 Accounting MOVE Project will delve into the perceptions and misperceptions that women and firms have about how and why women pursue partnership and other senior leadership positions.
Members of LEAP reached out to their own mentors to ask "What would you tell your 20 year old self about your career ahead?" or "What advice would you have for young professionals entering the accounting and finance industry today?"
The most important thing to remember, is ask! Instead of begrudging walking into work every day believing you deserve more, use your voice and ask. Easier said than done? Maybe. AFWA LEAP has some tips for approaching the conversation.
Employing these mindful and deliberate practices will allow us to focus our mental and physical wellness, certainly leading to improved performance, efficient time management, and a less stressful life.
