AFWA Awards

WOMEN WHO COUNT AWARDS

Nominations Categories

Emerging Leader for AFWA members up to age 35 or with less than 5 years in the field as of October 20 who have set the standard of excellence in their professional lives through leadership, mentoring and career achievement.

Excellent Student for AFWA student members that demonstrate exemplary leadership skills and a drive to be successful in their chosen career path. This individual exemplifies leadership in their career and life, setting a positive example for other women in the industry (must be a current student).

Industry Professional for AFWA members who have made an extraordinary personal or professional commitment that contributes to the advancement of the accounting/finance industry.

Public Practice for AFWA members who have made a significant contribution to the leadership of the industry through superior professional competence and positive change.

Small Business for AFWA members who have a small non-franchised business and contributes to their local communities.

Academic for AFWA members who have contributed significantly to the academic community and education of others. (e.g. dedication to their studies, innovative thinking, and continuous learning and growth)

AFWA Leadership for AFWA Chapter members who have demonstrated excellence in chapter leadership, chapter communications, national committee participation or conference attendance.

Community Impact for AFWA Members who demonstrate a strong sense of compassion, empathy, and a willingness to give back to society through their selfless contributions, impact on the community and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

CHAPTER ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

Chapter achievement awards are given to AFWA Chapters that have achieved excellence in membership, communications, programming, scholarship, and public service.

Membership: This award recognizes chapters that have excelled in their membership recruitment and retention efforts.

Communications: This award recognizes outstanding and unique public relations efforts of a chapter.

Programming: This award shall be awarded based on outstanding programming efforts that enhance the value of membership and improve member engagement.

Scholarship: This award recognizes outstanding chapter scholarship programming. Programming includes fundraising efforts, membership recruitment, diversity and inclusion efforts, and over-all scholarship dollars awarded.

Public Service: This award shall be awarded based on the chapter’s involvement in their community and their public service efforts. The award can also recognize an individual program within a chapter’s community.
